A traditional short-term herbal decoction combining burdock root and red clover (long used as blood- and lymph-supportive "alterative" herbs) with clove, which has a long folk history for supporting the body during a parasite cleanse.
What You Need
- 1 tbsp dried burdock root, chopped
- 1 tsp whole cloves
- 4 cups water
- 1 tbsp dried red clover blossoms
- Honey or lemon to taste (optional)
Method
- Add the burdock root and cloves to the water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes — roots and cloves need a full decoction to release their properties.
- Remove from heat, stir in the red clover blossoms, cover, and steep for another 10 minutes (delicate flowers shouldn't be boiled directly).
- Strain and drink warm, 1 cup at a time, 1–3 times daily.
Tips & Notes
- Treat this as a short cleanse cycle of 7–14 days rather than a daily long-term tonic, with a break before repeating.
- Clove has mild blood-thinning properties — avoid this blend if you are on anticoagulant medication.
- Burdock root and red clover both have mild hormone-modulating effects — avoid during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with a hormone-sensitive condition, without medical guidance.
- This is a traditional wellness tonic, not a treatment for a diagnosed parasitic infection — see a healthcare provider for suspected parasites.
