Janet's own blend for hormonal shifts during perimenopause and menopause. Black cohosh and ashwagandha are traditional favorites for hot flashes and stress resilience, gotu kola supports circulation and mental clarity, and ginger, turmeric, and peppermint settle the stomach. Finish with chamomile or valerian root at night for a calmer, easier sleep.
What You Need
- ½ tsp gotu kola
- ½ tsp black cohosh
- ½ tsp dried ashwagandha
- ½ tsp ginger and turmeric
- ½ tsp peppermint
- ½ tsp chamomile, or valerian root at bedtime
Method
- Add all ingredients into a tea ball or tea bag.
- Add boiling water and steep for 10 minutes.
- Serve before bed with honey if desired.
Tips & Notes
- Use the valerian root version for a bedtime cup — it is more sedating than chamomile and best saved for evening.
- Black cohosh and ashwagandha are not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, and ashwagandha can interact with thyroid and immune-suppressing medications — check with a healthcare provider before drinking this regularly if either applies to you.
- Ashwagandha is an adaptogen and works best with consistent daily use rather than as a one-off remedy.
